Carla Parola (LPC — Licensed Professional Counselor) has worked in the mental health field for over 20 years, with long standing experience serving migrant communities. Her master’s degree focuses on trauma, abuse, and deprivation. She has worked in non profit organizations with children and adults presenting a range of behavioral health issues, including anxiety, trauma, depression, and self esteem problems since 2005. She started her private practice in 2015.

She specializes in EMDR therapy. She is EMDR Certified, an EMDR Consultant, an EMDR Facilitator, and a National Certified Counselor. She provides EMDR consultation to other clinicians and is an Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners Approved Clinical Supervisor. She has completed advanced training in psychological immigration evaluations, EMDR, trauma work, and dissociation, and has conducted hundreds of assessments for VAWA, U visas, Waivers, Asylum, and T visas.

She is currently licensed in Arizona, Minnesota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Florida. She is the Director of Carla Parola Counseling, where she oversees a bilingual clinical team that provides trauma informed immigration psychological evaluations. She recently started a Spanish language podcast called Impacto Migrante, which explores the impact of family separation and other challenges faced by migrant communities.
