Rafael Cazares
About me
Overview
I’m Rafael Cazares, LMFT, a Mexican-American, first-generation therapist and son of immigrants providing bilingual (English/Spanish) telehealth across California, including the Inland Empire. My practice centers on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as a process-based framework. By cultivating psychological flexibility, I help adults step back from overthinking, quiet harsh inner critics, and navigate how language, family rules, and internal narratives shape their daily lived experience.
Grounded in Chicanx Affirmative Therapy, I specialize in working with adults dealing with chronic anxiety, depression, burnout, perfectionism, childhood trauma, family expectations, and major life changes. I place a strong clinical emphasis on identity shifts, relationship struggles, and men’s mental health, particularly paternal mental health and fatherhood transitions.
To support deep, values-aligned healing, I integrate present-moment mindfulness, guided behavioral exposure, self-compassion (CFT), attachment-focused work (EFIT), and trauma protocols like EMDR. I offer virtual evening care Monday through Thursday, 4:00 to 8:00 PM, in a warm, culturally affirming space. I always welcome peer connections, clinical discussions, and client referrals across California for bilingual telehealth care.
